AGE DISCRIMINATION
Under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), you are protected from age-based discrimination if you are 40 years of age or older.
If you are asked when you are going to retire, or are told that you are "too old" to be able to learn something new in the workplace, you may be discriminated against because of your age. In addition, if you have recently been laid off in a "Reduction in Force", and you are 40 years of age or older, it may be age discrimination.
